'GOLDEN GODDESS'
(for more info
click here) There is a story behind this statue but it is sketchy at
best. The two men pictured with the Golden Goddess are AQ2 Ronald Samuelson,
a 3rd crewman, and LCDR Ralph Lang, pilot. The squadron was VAH-8 aboard the
USS Midway in 1958. The 'golden goddess' became a badge of honor
among the heavy squadrons and was 'kidnapped' on more than one occasion. If you know the
history and story behind this trophy, please contact the A-3 Assn. |
